Langer Heinrich stage 2 expansion

Langer Heinrich Uranium Mine is presently operating a 2.6 million pounds subsequent to the initial scoping and completing a rough order of magnitude estimate, Langer Heinrich Uranium has undertaken to increase the plant capacity to 3.7 million pounds of Uranium per annum.

Project description

In comply with the clients requirements order to increase the production levels the following changes and upgrades were made to the plant;

  • Scrubber Feed Conveyor capacity was increased to meet Phase 2 production requirements. The conveyor belt width was increased from 600mm wide to 750mm wide and a new drive was added to increase the belt speed.
  • The Crushing circuit was upgraded to include a secondary and tertiary circuit.
  • New 35metre diameter pre-leach thicker was installed.
  • 2 x new leach tanks with additional heating capacity were installed.
  • Modification and expansion to the existing Concentrate Counter Direction (CCD) circuit included 3 new 35meter diameter Thickeners and piping re-routing of the existing circuit.
  • A new 15meter diameter Sodium Di-urinate (SDU) Thickener was installed and is sized to cater for future expansions.
  • New SDU wash tanks were installed.
