Upgrade of a Fuel Storage Facility

Project description

The client engaged the services of Aveng E+PC to develop a Concept Design Proposal and order of magnitude estimate for refurbishment of a petroleum products storage and distribution facility in Matola, Mozambique.

The upgraded facility will cater for four different products (gasoline, gas oil, jet fuel and marine residual fuel) received by ship while distribution will take place via road, rail and ship. Storage capacity of 114 000 m3 will be refurbished and the main aim is monthly distribution of 100 000 metric tons of fuel by rail.

Safety on the facility is high priority, and therefore the refurbishment and expansion of the fire fighting system is a key success factor.

Various new services will be installed as part of the project, such as a steam boiler and compressed air distribution system. A building will be erected to house the MCC.
